Tuesday

Well ... looks like we have lost one of the few over here on the Journey! I suspect this is due in part to the fact that I have been spending much time and effort on growing my other blog and not so much in this little corner of my world. Anyway ... I'm here now ... and if you're reading this so are you! And I'm grateful!

Water Aerobics last night was such wonderful fun! The water supported me and allowed me to truly stretch and move in ways that I haven't done since before I injured my knee! It felt amazing! I think the instructor thought I was in pain at one point as I was expressing a sigh of deep contentment "Ahhhhhh" and she told me not to do that if it hurt! LOL! I assured her that I was feeling quite fine indeed!

I did have a miniature almost wipeout as I stepped into the shower before going out to the pool that made me wonder whether or not this was truly a good idea. But once I got out of the shower, down the steps, and into the pool I was reassured that it indeed was!

After stretching and exercising for an hour in the pool I ventured back through the locker room maze and into the ladies hot tub! Ahhhhh! Pure unadulterated bliss! I have so missed being able to just sit and soak in a tub! And the bubbling cauldron of the spa is even better! Such an excellent reward for the discipline of exercise!

I called Josiah when I was on my way home to see if he wanted fried chicken because I was too tired to cook and I thought Bert would be in Claremore spraying for bugs. Bert was actually home (because of the rain) and wondered why I was getting fried chicken when we had a fridge and pantry full of just purchased groceries! I was being lazy honey! It happens! ;)

I did eat 2 pieces of chicken and 2 biscuits which fit nicely into my calorie allowance for the day even if it wasn't the best of all possible diet choices. Trying to live in the real world this time rather than getting incessantly hung up on diet foods and feeling deprived thereby!

After a quick shower when I got home I snuggled up in my recliner with my fried chicken and biscuits  and watched a little TV but soon realized that I was feeling wearier than the hour would seem to be responsible for so I headed to bed about 8:30. First time in over 2 months that I have gone to bed without a pain pill or a muscle relaxant. I did wake up in mild pain frequently throughout the night but never enough to make me get up and take a pill. It is a blessing to see evidence that I am healing!

See you tomorrow!

So happy for your accomplishments and healing! I would so love to be part of the water aerobics with you and that HOT TUB. Oh my. When we lived closer to Tampa I used to go to Shapes (all women) and did that and they had a hot tub and steam room, and I loved it and used it. But too far to drive from here, so we use the Y, and they do not have a hot tub. sigh.

Enjoy your workouts in the pool. Happy for the painless nights and no meds. Good feeling of success!

Three cheers for Beth!!
