Short Term Goals & Rewards
Okay ... I posted pictures as promised. Now I need to start working on a road map, a game plan if you will, to get me from where I am today, to where I want to be.
This weekend I will:
buy a new scale (hopefully one that works this time)buy a new duffel bag and lock- stock up on healthy food choices
go to Akins to buy Raspberry Protein Shake mix since that is almost a TREAT- start drinking more water
Some of those items are crossed off my list because I was sitting here typing that and it occurred to me that it was 12:15 and I could use my lunch hour to run a couple of errands.
I went to Akins, which was out of my canisters of Raspberry Royale Spriutein-Whey, and bought protein powder packets in my Raspberry and Chocolate, as well as canisters of Strawberry and (new to me) 2 other kinds of berry flavored Whey Protein. (It sucks to be allergic to Soy in the protein powder world!) I figured some variety would be good for me.
Then I went to Target where I purchased facial cleansing products as well as a new scale, 2 bath sheet sized towels, a BRIGHT pink duffel bag (that folds up small enough to fit in the silly little lockers at the YMCA), and a word-lock. I had never even heard of a word lock but I LOVE this little sucker because I am always forgetting my combination. To my dismay it did not have an *h* in the last spot so I couldn't code it with Beth but I'll figure something out!
Anyway ... that was more walking at one time than I have done since before I hurt my knee back in February. And when I got back to the office I was limping a little (actually Karen told me I looked like I was in pain) but it wasn't so bad! I'm good. I made it! I even stopped and got gas! I don't think I'm ready to run a marathon any time soon but I am ready to get on with my life!
So ... back to my goal setting:
- I will make out a grocery lists to enable healthy nutritious meal and snack options
- I might even go to the grocery store with hubby
- I will boil eggs so they will be available for quick protein snacking
- I will start drinking more water and cutting way back on soda
- I will get caught up on must do chores, and rest, so there are no excuses for not going to Water Aerobics next week.
- I will make sure I have everything I need packed and ready to go so that I can go straight from work to the Y.
- Charge my Body Bugg back up so it is ready to wear on Monday
Next week:
- Put BodyBugg on Sunday night before bed (or first thing Monday morning)
- Starting weight report (diet blog and body bugg program)
- Record all food, beverages and activity in Body Bugg program
- Aqua Aerobics ~ Monday, Wednesday and Friday @ Thornton YMCA 5:30 - 6:30 PM
- Get up at 6:30 to start training my body to wake earlier
- Protein Shakes for breakfast (fruit, skim milk, protein powder)
- Take the longer route to and from the Ladies Room at least a couple of times a day OR take an extra walk around the building a couple of times each day
- No more than 2 12oz bottles of Coke Zero during the work day
- NO stopping at Quik Trip
- No sugar
- Eat a small nutritious meal every 2 - 3 hours
- Stay OFF the scale except for once a week weigh-ins
- Set goals for the month of May next Friday
- Note / acknowledge success, failures and good and bad choices here on my blog
- Start working on a walking music mix to put on my I Pod for when I am better able to water walk and/or go for walks
Hmmmmm ... rewards:
- free day on Sundays - not to go crazy but to allow choices that I don't allow other days
- I'll have to think about this. Rewards need to be affordable, appropriate (non-caloric), etc. I want to do things like mani-pedi, tanning, new clothes, a weekend mini-vacation, etc. but those are for more long term goals. Well ... the man-pedi could be every 2 - 4 weeks I guess. What do you think? Any ideas?

That's a great goal list. I love it. I may have to use some for myself too! You go girl!!!!
I've been wanting a word lock too. Maybe I'll head to Target tomorrow. Looks like you've got a good plan. Best of luck!
You could reward yourself with on of those 15 minute neck massages. A flower..., I don't know, but I am sure you will think of something terrific!
I tired to comment earlier, but couldn't get in.
You are going to have to tell me how to do the strike through and I still need to call you about making pages. I can make them, but don't know how to most to the individual pages afterward. Just call me clueless! LOL
I'll try to email you over the weekend. I'm getting tired.
Have a wonderful Saturday!
Hi thanks for comment on my blog It is so gr8 when we get feed back so thought I would pop in and say Hi . Wow you have started me thinking maybe I should be settting goals . I am just plodding on at weight watchers 1lb off 3lb on ( I was away for 3 weeks ) I am not dedicated to loosing but have too got about 70lb to lose.
good for you, girl!
this is so inspiring.
putting oneself out there for everyone to see can be a very difficult thing to do.
very courageous!
i'm positive you'll achieve your goals.
:)
xo.
i love the way you are sounding. your plan sounds a bit like what we do in weight watchers. i think you have to program it for yourself. i know this sounds odd but when i eat breakfast i want to eat all morning. if i don't eat breakfast i am fine all morning. then i do lunch and i am pretty good in the afternoon. so since it works for me, thats what i do but don't think anyone else should,. you keep up the good plan girl. you can do it. every time you think pizza say "get thee behind me Satan!"
