My knee

I'm writing this post to answer those who have asked about my knee. If you wish to skip this post ... you have my blessing!

Unlike my car wreck, which shall be engraved upon my memory forever (July 2, 2008), I don't remember the exact date that I "blew out my knee." This is probably a good thing as there is already more than enough useless trivia floating around in the muck and mire of my brain! I do know that it was in February of this year. What happened? The short story is that I am klutz and I tore my meniscus (a ligament in your knee that you will never know is there unless you tear it ~ which I do NOT recommend!) The slightly longer version goes something like this. Waited too long to head towards the bathroom and had to really rush. (It's a LONG walk from my office to the ladies room!) When I turned left to enter the stall I felt an explosion in my knee. Pain got worse rather than better. MRI confirmed torn meniscus. Arthroscopic surgery to repair. 3 - 4 months to fully recover. And I'm almost always behind the healing curve!

So ... surgery was March 24 and I spent 2 1/2 weeks at home. Went back to work on Monday. It was time. And being IN my office AT my desk is absolutely no problem! But all the walking involved in being back at work is taking a toll. Tonight I can barely walk. BUT I am not in ANY pain when I'm not upright and that IS improvement! Healing is happening. Just slower than I would schedule if I was in control.

And it will heal! One day at a time, dear friend.
Praying for you. xoxo
